Bishnu Prasad Paudel, born 20 November 1959 in Syangja, is a veteran Nepalese politician from the CPN (Unified Marxist-Leninist). Over decades, he has held many high-level roles, especially in finance, defence, home affairs, water resources, and energy. He is currently Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, and has been a multiple-term Member of Parliament for Rupandehi-2. Known for his strong influence in fiscal policy, he is a key player in Nepal’s ruling political establishment; yet he has also become a visible figure in the public eye due to recent protests against the government.
