About
Krishna Prasad Sitaula is a veteran politician from the Nepali Congress, known for his roles in key transitional periods in Nepalese politics. Born in Terhathum District in 1946, he rose to prominence through electoral success in Jhapa constituencies and held major cabinet roles, including Home Minister and Deputy Prime Minister. Over time his direct electoral wins have declined (he lost in the 2017 and 2022 elections), but he made a comeback by securing a seat in the National Assembly and being chosen as the leader of the ruling party there. He remains an influential voice within his party and in national politics.
