Madhav Kumar Nepal (born 6 March 1953) is a senior Nepali politician, currently chairing the CPN (Unified Socialist). He served as Nepal’s Prime Minister from 2009-2011 and has held high offices including Deputy PM, and key ministerial roles. Previously a long-time leader in the CPN (UML), he split to form the Unified Socialist in 2021 citing issues around leadership style and internal party democracy. He remains an influential figure in communist politics in Nepal.
