About
Pushpa Kamal Dahal, also known as Prachanda, is a prominent communist politician in Nepal. Born in 1954 in Kaski, he rose from rural beginnings to lead the Maoist insurgency that brought about the end of Nepal’s monarchy. After peace negotiations, he transitioned into mainstream politics and has served as Prime Minister three times. His political journey has been marked by both considerable influence and recurring instability, especially because of changing coalitions and contested parliamentary confidence.
