About
Rajendra Prasad Lingden (born 7 September 1965 in Panchthar District) is a leader of Nepal’s Rastriya Prajatantra Party. Rising through the ranks, he defeated veteran politician Krishna Prasad Sitaula to win the Jhapa-3 seat in 2017, and again in 2022. As RPP chairman, he has positioned the party with renewed energy, briefly serving as Deputy PM and Energy Minister in the government of 2023. Known for his party’s pro-monarchy and Hindu nationalism leanings, Lingden is also seen as a generational face in RPP, advocating reform and greater appeal.
