Shashanka Koirala (born 24 October 1958 in Patna, India) is a veteran Nepali politician and ophthalmologist, part of the prominent Koirala political family. He is the son of former Prime Minister B. P. Koirala and has held significant roles within the Nepali Congress party, notably serving as its General Secretary from 2016 to 2021. Elected as MP for Nawalparasi East 1 in the Pratinidhi Sabha since 2018, he is one of the more experienced leaders in the party, combining political lineage, professional credibility, and long electoral experience.
